BECOME A MEMBER

5 REASONS WHY IT’S WORTH JOINING GRAP:

  1. Higher standards and renumeration - at GRAP we lobby broadcasters and producers for new standards in archival work.
  2. More strength - at GRAP we advocate for cooperation with national and international partner organisations.
  3. More knowledge - at GRAP we help each other with information on rights holders and licence prices.
  4. More exposure - with our website we offer an ideal presence.
  5. More exchange - at GRAP we exchange ideas at annual, self-organised events such as the Dok Leipzig or the European Film Market at the Berlinale.

CAN ANY RESEARCHER BECOME A GRAP MEMBER, OR DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE EXPERIENCE?

In principle, professional researchers can become GRAP members. Experience ranges from junior researchers to those who have been working for decades. To ensure that GRAP members are professionals, we require new applicants to submit a CV, which we review in detail.

Why should I become a GRAP member as an Archive Producer?

GRAP members have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas with other researchers and archive producers who already have more experience or have worked with other partners and archives.

In addition, they are informed about current developments and topics in closed distribution lists and are the first to find out which regulations are changing or when important industry events are taking place. They can also benefit from discounted accreditation to important markets.

Researchers and archive producers who are GRAP members get their own profile on the GRAP website and can be found more easily by clients.

How long is GRAP membership valid?

Membership is for one calendar year, from 1 January to 31 December, regardless of when in the year you join. The membership fee will be adjusted according to the date of joining.

ARE THERE PEOPLE AT GRAP WHO CAN ORGANISE WORKSHOPS OR PARTICIPATE IN COMMITTEES?

Yes, we have members in various locations who have experience in organising presentations, running workshops and participating in discussion panels. Contact us to request more information.
